A man was transported to University Hospital of Northern B.C. with minor injuries after he was struck by a car Sunday evening while jaywalking.
Prince George RCMP Cst. Craig Douglass said the 31-year-old man was crossing Fourth Avenue near Edmonton Street when he was hit at about 6 p.m. by an eastbound car.
"The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and, according to witnesses, was not in the crosswalk at the time of the incident," Douglass said in a press release.
The days are getting shorter, Douglass added, and asked both drivers and walkers to take that into account.
"Drivers, please plan to travel in darkness and leave early to avoid rushing," Douglass said.
"Pedestrians, please wear light coloured clothing, preferably something reflective, in order to be seen.
"Always cross streets at intersections."
