The last of three men involved in the theft of copper wire from a dormant Prince George sawmill was sentenced Thursday.
Thomas Stewart Robertson, 57, was sentenced to one year house arrest and one year probation and ordered to pay $1,000 restitution.
The outcome is in relation to a mid-2011 incident when about 1,000 metres went missing from the site on the Willow Cale Forest Service Road.
After receiving a call at about noon on May 31, police found a portion stashed about a kilometre away. Then roughly 14 hours later, in response to a second call, police went to the site where the three were caught with a pickup truck full of cable.
Robertson was convicted of possession of stolen property over $5,000. He also received a day in jail for failing to appear in court.
In May 2012, Gregory Scott Saugstad, 42, was sentenced to a day in jail for possession of stolen property under $5,000, and in January 2012, Robert Burgess, 58, was sentenced to one year in jail with a suspended sentence for possession of stolen property over $5,000.
