Michael George Campbell was sentenced Tuesday to time served plus one day for assaulting a local woman.
Campbell, who had been in custody since he was arrested April 17, 2011, received the term in Prince George Provincial Court for assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Campbell was found not guilty of unlawful confinement or imprisonment.
Police said at the time of the incident they found the woman after they forced their way into a residence in the 1800 block of Queensway on Sunday and Campbell was arrested at the scene.
The woman suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
