International expert returns to P.G.

Dr. Gwynne Dyer's delayed northern B.C. November speaking is back on in the new year. The world-renowned international affairs expert returns to Prince George Friday, Feb. 10 to lecture on the Arab Spring and recent developments in the MIddle East.

Dr. Gwynne Dyer's delayed northern B.C. November speaking is back on in the new year.

The world-renowned international affairs expert returns to Prince George Friday, Feb. 10 to lecture on the Arab Spring and recent developments in the MIddle East.

His talk takes place at UNBC's Canfor Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 and will be available only at the door. Proceeds go toward renovation work at the Prince George Public Library.

During his last appearance in Prince George, Dyer gave the 2009 Dr. Bob Ewert Memorial Lecture on how climate change will fuel future global conflicts.

Most recently, CBC Radio ran a three-part series based on Dyer's 2008 book Climate Wars.

In 2009 Dyer was appointed an Officer to the Order of Canada. Dyer also released his latest book, Crawling Through The Wreckage, a collection of his newspaper columns from the last five years.

Dyer's earlier works, included War, The Mess They Made: The Middle East After Iraq, Future Tense: The Coming World Order and Ignorant Armies: Sliding Into War In Iraq.
