Inspiring Women Among Us, a UNBC event, will inspire community members as those who have made outstanding contributions are invited to share their knowledge.
The third edition of this event takes place from today through Nov. 29 and is themed Women, Work & Allies with 41 events on the schedule to take place in Prince George and Quesnel.
Highlights include a talk by Melanie Mark, the provincial minister of advanced education, skills and training, on the topic about how post-secondary institutions can be allies to people who are excluded from universities. This event goes at UNBC's Canfor Winter Garden at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Brenda Butterworth-Carr, who is the former Prince George RCMP detachment superintendent, will return to Prince George to talk about women and leadership in policing as she is now the RCMP deputy commissioner and commanding officer of E division, overseeing B.C. This event goes Saturday at 1 p.m. at UNBC's Weldwood Theatre, Room 7-238.
Opening ceremonies for the event is 9:30 a.m. today in UNBC's Winter Garden.
