Prince George residents are getting their chance to vote yay or nay on the cost of doing business at city hall.
As a part of the city's core services review, consultants KPMG have released a set of service profiles for public review and comment on the city's website at www.princegeorge.ca.
The city's operations are broken up into seven categories: governance and leadership, planning, development, emergency and enforcement, internal support services, public works and parks, recreation and culture.
The public is encouraged to give their input by reviewing these seven profiles - covering everything from the city manager's office to cemetery operations - and completing an online survey indicating whether they'd like to see a change in service levels.
Those who wish to make their comments in person can do so by attending a public workshop Wednesday, July 25 at the Civic Centre from 6 to 9 p.m.
The last time the public was invited to participate in the core services review process was during the launch in May, where only a handful of people attended the meeting at city hall.
KPMG was awarded a $313,720 contract to do the review, which is scheduled to be completed by late October.
The next opportunity for public participation will come in September when the consultants release a draft report of their findings.
Pre-registration for the workshop is required by July 18. To register, call 250-561-7602 or email your name and contact information to [email protected].
