A provincial court judge has stayed charges against a Prince George man accused of colliding with a police car while driving drunk because it has taken too long for his case to come to trial.

Jamie Dean McComber was facing charges of driving while impaired and refusing a breath sample in connection with a Nov. 22, 2008 incident in which it's also alleged the police car emergency lights were flashing at the time, two officers and a bystander were narrowly missed and his young son was in the vehicle.
