A B.C. resident won’t be able to drive on the road for the next three months after a drinking-and-driving, and a hit-and-run incident involving an undercover police car last week.
The Richmond RCMP Strike Force was working undercover when the driver of a black sedan backed into one of their vehicles before driving away, said Cst. Kenneth Lau, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.
After the same police unit followed and stopped the vehicle, multiple breath samples showed the man was driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was issued a 90-day roadside prohibition, a violation ticket for leaving the scene of an accident, and his vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days, according to a media statement.
RCMP is reminding drivers to not drink and drive.
Rather, those who plan to drink should find an alternative way home such as transit cabs or a designated driver.
