Human remains found on the Greenway Trail System May 13, 2013, near the University of Northern B.C. have been identified as Anthony Carroll Lee of Prince George.
Lee was 22 years old when he was reported missing to RCMP on March 16, 2008.
Last contact with Lee was made during a cell phone conversation when he said he was lost in the woods.
A witness came forward, saying she had seen Lee walking along the trail on March 13, 2008, after she had seen a media release with Lee's photo.
Two ground searches and an aerial search were conducted with the Prince George Search & Rescue Society, along with a police service dog, but no trace of Lee was found.
Lee underwent cranial surgery less than 10 days before he went missing. The surgery was a result of a vicious assault on Lee, two years before.
Two hikers found Lee's remains on May 13 in a wooded area off a trail in the Greenway system.
Cause of death is undetermined and RCMP are asking for the public's help.
