With graduation celebrations, lake parties and spring fever all in the warming spring air, the specter of young impaired drivers increases as well.
ICBC's annual road safety speaking tour has been booked. Two veteran public speakers with compelling personal stories will share the northern leg of this mission. Heather Charlton and Kevin Brooks will stand up in local schools to caution kids about the dangers on the road.
Car crashes remain the number one preventable cause of death for youth in B.C. and distracted driving is the leading factor in youth crashes resulting in injuries or death, according to data compiled by police agencies and ICBC. Charlton and Brooks will talk about their personal experiences to illustrate safe driving choices can lead to fewer of these life-altering incidents.
