ICBC paid out to road projects in 2013

ICBC contributed nearly $150,000 in total to six road improvement projects completed in the Prince George area last year, the Crown corporation said Tuesday. The largest contribution, at $49,000, went to work related to four-laning 3.

ICBC contributed nearly $150,000 in total to six road improvement projects completed in the Prince George area last year, the Crown corporation said Tuesday.

The largest contribution, at $49,000, went to work related to four-laning 3.5 kilometres of Highway 97 South to Sintich Road. The improvements included shoulder widening, upgraded signing, pavement marking, lighting and access control.

The other projects in which ICBC contributed funding are:

- Improved delineation, pavement marking using durable inlaid markings along Highway 16 and Highway 97, $33,300;

- Intersection improvements and construction of a two-kilometre eastbound climbing lane from the intersection of Highway 16 and Upper Fraser Road, $22,200.

- Upgrading pedestrian signal at Lansdowne Road and Ferry Avenue to a full two-phase traffic signal, $17,200.

- Construction of new sidewalks, new LED street lighting and installation of curb extensions on Fourth and Fifth Avenues, $15,000.

- Upgraded intersection lighting at Chief Lake Road and Ness Lake Road, $12,400.
