It’s a Thriftflip!

Okay, Prince George! This is a whole new endeavour for me. I’ve never worked retail, and I don’t have a lot of experience with a cash register, or opening a brand new business.

I do, however, have marketing experience and I try to keep up with the trends as best as a middle age lady with three teenagers can.

So I’ve spent the last few months determining what is it that brings people into a thrift store. Prices? Product?

Do we shop thrift because we have to for financial reasons, or do we shop thrift because it’s the cool, trendy thing to do right now?

I can tell you from what I see on a daily basis that anyone who shops thrift, knows a secret.

It’s a secret they don’t want the masses to know… it’s an itty, bitty piece of information that they want to keep to themselves.

The secret? Thrifting. Is. Genius!

Do you know how many brand name pieces of (*cough cough, Lulu Lemon) clothing go onto our racks daily, or how much clothing we have that is still stylish and trendy?

And, what if it isn’t stylish anymore?

Do you know there is a whole world of our Gen Z’s who have filled TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram with millions of videos of them ripping, cutting and re-styling entire outfits?

It’s an actual thing and it’s beautiful to watch our up-and-coming generation be so resourceful, especially now.

We’re in a new age friends and many of us have different financial situations due to COVID-19.

So let’s consider a new way to shop. Let’s encourage creativity in our kids. Heck, let’s reconsider our own spending habits!

I have bought many pieces from our stores over the last couple of months that I absolutely love and get compliments on all the time.

I’m a proud thrifter! I get a rush when I find a great shirt for three bucks, or a new sweater for a loonie!

And speaking of loonies... just an FYI, we’re changing up our entire downtown store.

Worth Repeating 2 is now becoming an everything for a dollar store.

Absolutely everything from clothes, shoes, housewares, kitchen items, books and toys will all be for $1 each starting next Wednesday (Sept. 16). Each and every single day at 1466 3 Ave!!!

Bring your kids. Tell your friends. We’re changing the thrifting mentality.

We’re even going to be offering private classes on up-cycling soon!

Do me a favour and check out #thriftflip on some of these social media platforms.

You’ll be blown away by some of the amazing ideas out there.

Get inspired, get creative, and get to your closest Worth Repeating Store!
