Human rights complaints can be costly and time consuming, which is why it's important to know how to handle them properly.

The Human Rights Toolkit for Small Business seminar aims to cover this issue and more. Robyn Durling, Communications Officer for the B.C. Human Rights Commission, will be giving a presentation on "Understanding and Avoiding Human Rights Complaints." The seminar is suitable for business owners, operators, staff, and advisors, especially those who deal with human resource management.

It will cover topics such as comprehending the law around human rights, bullying, and harassment and understanding the Human Rights Tribunal process. The seminar will also delve into deeper issues such as what constitutes a physical or mental disability for human rights purposes.

It takes place at Community Futures Fraser Fort George, 1566 7th Ave. on Thursday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There's a $25 registration fee. To register, call 250-562-9622 ext. 108 or email [email protected].
