The Prince George RCMP are currently conducting an investigation involving the discovery of found human remains in the LC Gunn Park area in Prince George.
A large area of the park is cordoned off by investigators in order to conduct a thorough ground search of the grounds and it's foot trails.
"At this time we can confirm that the body is that of a female," said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. "Numerous investigational resources from the Prince George RCMP General Investigation Section and RCMP North District Major Crimes Unit are involved at this point."
Muskaluk said, "This investigation commenced late Friday evening and we are currently looking at determining several key factors, which include confirmation of the woman's identity and whether foul play is a factor in her death."
LC Gunn Park is the popular wooded area overlooking the Fraser River directly across the water from Fort George Park.
