To find a wonderfully fall-themed, covid-friendly, wide-open spaces kind of celebration people can attend Huble Homestead’s annual Potato Festival Sept. 5 and 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Celebrating the mighty spud at the historic site this long weekend offers guests a chance to get heirloom potatoes and other fresh vegetables without all the hard work of growing and harvesting them. That was all done by the hard-working staff and volunteers tending the Huble gardens.
During the Potato Festival there are tater-themed self-led activities, a craft kit and some physically distanced outdoor games like potato sack races, hot potato and a potato and spoon race for those looking for a little fun.
Check out the black powder shooting on Monday, Sept. 6, too.
Order lunch featuring the starchy potato while enjoying live music before exploring in the General Store for end-of-summer specials.
There will be traditional skills demonstrations where guests can learn the process of making soap, paper, candy and more.
