FortisBC is asking locals to speak up during an open house on natural gas rates from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Civic Centre.
The natural gas supplier has applied to the BC Utilities Commision (BCUC) to amalgamate its three separate utility companies into one entity.
The move will enable FortisBC to offer consistent rates and services, states the website.
"Overall, amalgamation offers several benefits including lower rates for some Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast and Whistler customers, rate stability and simplicity for all, consistent programs and services, and greater reporting and operating efficiencies," it states.
Find out how the amalgamation would affect Prince George's utility rates and voice your opinion and concerns during the two-hour open house at the Civic Centre from 2 to 6 p.m. today.
