Imagine a day where all the details are taken care of and you can just relax and enjoy Seniors Day at Huble Homestead.

Starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, for just $10, seniors can get a ride out to the homestead site, courtesy of Pacific Western Transportation, have a hot lunch, enjoy the entertainment, take a tour or relax by the Fraser River and then find themselves at home by 4 p.m.

"We invite seniors to pre-register because the seats are limited on the coach," said

Krystal Leason, programs manager at the

Huble Homestead/Giscome Portage

Heritage Society. "The bus will stop at several pick-up points throughout the city to make it more convenient for our seniors."

Once the seniors arrive at the homestead, they can explore on their own or take a tour, and enjoy Nechako Community Theatrics Society comedic skits.

When seniors visit the Huble site, it can conjure many memories, Leason said.

"I can't tell you how many times seniors will be looking at items in Huble House or in the barns and I've heard them say they remember when their parents used those same items, or that they had that when they were little," said Leason.

"I love to hear that, because isn't that

really the point?"

Huble House is 101 years old this year. It's a beautiful two-storey house that offers a glimpse into the past, said Leason.

Seniors can visit the First Nations Fish Camp, the Blacksmith shop, Salmon Valley Post Office and do a little shopping at the general store.

Huble Homestead Historic Site is 40 kilometres north of Prince George, just off Highway 97 on Mitchell Road.

Space on the bus is limited. Seats must be reserved in advance by calling 250-564-7033.

Also, ask about the pick-up schedule around town.
