There were starts on 23 new single-detached homes in Prince George and area last month, according to the latest update from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
The year-to-date total now stands at 132, compared to 106 by the same point last year.
Over October 2011, there were starts on 14 such homes.
Looking at multiple family, there were starts on four units last month, raising the year-to-date total to 49, compared to 41 by the same point last year.
