Housing starts remain on upswing says CMHC

The pace of home building in Prince George and area continues to remain well ahead of last year, according to the latest numbers from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

The pace of home building in Prince George and area continues to remain well ahead of last year, according to the latest numbers from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

The CMHC said there were starts on 18 new single-family homes in April, raising the year-to-date total to 52. That's well up from eight starts for the month and 25 starts year-to-date by the same point in 2014.

There were also starts on 18 units of multiple-family housing in April, compared to just two for the same month last year. Year-to-date, the total now stands at 21 units, compared to two units by the same point in 2014.
