Starts on 11 new single-family homes were recorded in Prince George and area in August, according to the latest report from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
That was two more than the total for the same month last year and raised the year-to-date total to 106 starts, compared to 71 over the same period last year.
As for multiple-family housing, work began on nine units last month, compared to just one during August 2014.
The year-to-date total on that front now stands at 78, compared to 71 by the same point last year.
