There were starts on 18 single family homes in Prince George and area last month, according to a Canada Mortgage and Housing update released Tuesday.
The number raised the year-to-date total to 78, a big improvement over the 42 reached by the same point last year, but below 96 reached by the end of July 2008.
There were 175 starts by the end of July 2007.
There were no starts on multiple-family projects, and the year-to-date total remains at 96 compared to 56 by the same point last year.
