There was a house fire on Aintree Drive that was reported just after 5 a.m. this morning.
Fifteen firefighters from three halls responded.
First crews to arrive found heavy smoke and flames from from the front door and roof of the single-storey dwelling.
The lone occupant of the house was outside when crews arrived and she was treated for smoke inhalation by firefighters, then taken to UHNBC.
Most of the flames were knocked down quickly. Firefighters are still on scene to make sure all hot spots are extinguished.
A fire investigator has been called to the scene.
No damage estimate is available yet but damage is extensive and structure is likely a total loss.
