Smoke coming from the roof of a two storey single family home in the 1700 block of 11 Avenue was reported Saturday at about 4:47 p.m. and saw fire crews attend what they thought was a chimney fire.
The crews started in the interior but due to high temperatures, changed their approach to a defensive exterior attack.
A lone tenant had initially arrived home to find smoke inside the house and called 911 from the neighbour's house.
No injuries were reported, damage loss is not known at this time and the fire is under investigation.
