A woman has been arrested after setting a fire inside the University Hospital of Northern B.C. Sunday.

Just after 10 p.m. on Nov. 9, Prince George RCMP members already at the hospital were notified of thick smoke coming from a bathroom near the emergency room waiting room.

An officer extinguished the small fire that police believe was deliberately set.

Information given to police led them to finding and arresting a 21-year-old Prince George resident in the parking lot.

According the RCMP, the woman resisted arrest and assaulted one of the officers. She was held in custody overnight and will be making an appearance in provincial court later today.
