Rick Klassen of Fort St. James was the winner of the 2020 Hospice Dream Home Lottery.
Prince George Hospice Society executive director Donna Flood and Mayor Lyn Hall drew the winning ticket on Christmas Eve. The society has run the lottery for 10 years as one of its main fundraising events, to support humane end-of-life care at the Rotary Hospice House.
Klassen's prize is a 3,400-square-foot home with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, an extra-wide single garage, an office and a fully finished basement with separate access. The home, located on Larisa Court in the Nechako View subdivision, is worth roughly $700,000.
Tammy McKeown of Stewart also had a lucky day on Christmas Eve, winning the hospice's second 50/50 draw – worth $150,000.
