Initial figures from the recent homeless count have created a bit of a puzzle.
Over the course of the 24-hour effort, which started at 6 p.m. on Sunday, 363 surveys were collected, a dozen fewer than in 2008, but at 280, the number of people who consider themselves homeless was 11 more according to early figures released Thursday by Community Partners Addressing Homelessness.
