A ribbon was cut Tuesday at a Copper Falls Custom Homes home under construction. Proceeds from the sale of the house are going to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Cutting the ribbon is Colleen Sparrow, president of the foundation, with Copper Falls Custom Homes owners Jeff Stewart, left, and Brent Scheck.

In an effort to raise funds for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, Copper Falls Custom Homes will donate the proceeds from a new build at 2759 Links Dr. in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision.

With all the suppliers and trades on board, Copper Falls director Jeff Stewart said this kind of project has been on the radar for a couple of years and all it took was a little collaboration to make it happen.

Scheck Construction and Sequoia Signature Homes came together in April of last year to be known moving forward as Copper Falls Custom Homes. Owners of those businesses, Brent Scheck and Stewart started making a plan for the Copper Project soon after they amalgamated their businesses and guarantee a minimum donation of $20,000 to the healthcare foundation, which they've donated to kick off the project.

Tuesday saw a ceremonial ribbon cutting at the site of the new home build.

"I can't tell you what this means to healthcare in the north," Judy Neiser, healthcare foundation CEO, said Tuesday morning.

"When we have people who are touched by healthcare, who employ people who work with other contractors and collaborate to put together something so amazing as a house and then decide to give the proceeds to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, we're truly, truly touched."

The home is a 3,084 square foot rancher already MLS listed at $659,900, featuring a walk-out basement, which backs onto the Aberdeen Glen Golf Course fairway.

There are two bedrooms on the main floor, laundry, large master ensuite with walk-in closet and two full bathrooms.

There is a spacious kitchen and dining room perfect for entertaining. There is also a covered and open deck from which to enjoy the outdoors.

The project will be completed in September.

"Even though this is a spec house there is nothing about this house that is budget - it's what we build - this house is a Copper Falls house," Stewart said. "It is definitely not a scaled back version of anything that we do."

Stewart offered a list of quality items like a 50-year waranteed roof, stone counter tops, and ICF foundation perfect for northern winters, which will be featured at 2759 Links Drive.

"It will have all the things people come to expect in a high-end home," Stewart said.
