Construction began on 34 new single-family homes in Prince George and area during the first quarter of this year, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation numbers.
That's double the total reached by the same point last year.
Eight of those starts began last month, compared to three during March last year.
There have been starts on just three units of multiple-family homes so far this year, nonetheless up from zero starts by the same point last year.
