Home invasion that lead to aggravated assault sees charges laid

A violent home invasion that seriously injured an adult male last week sees Ann Brittany Tom, 26, and Ivan Christopher Skin, 24, charged.

At about 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, police got a call about a home invasion and assault at a home in the 2400 block of Oak Street in Prince George.

Police discovered a man and woman had forced their way into the home, assaulted the occupant and ran away on foot.

Prince George Fire/Rescue and BC Ambulance were on scene to help the victim and he was taken to hospital where he had emergency surgery.

Just before 9 p.m. that same night Tom as found in a wooded area close to the house and arrested without incident, while at about 11:50 p.m. Skin was walking along Quince Street when he was found by a general duty police office. He was arrested with the aid of a Police Dog Service Team.

Break & Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence

Break & Enter to Commit Assault

Break & Enter to Commit Uttering Threats

Break & Enter to Commit Mischief

Forcible Entry

Disguise with Intent

Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public

Utter Threats (2 counts)

Fail to comply with a Probation Order (2 counts)

Skin remains in custody until at least his next court date on May 20, 2015. Tom is in custody until at least her next court date on May 15, 2015.

Police believe those involved were known to each other and this was not a random act.

Both of the accused are well known to police.
