A young man is back on the streets after being charged with aggravated assault in a violent home invasion, and a second suspect is still at large for the attack that sent a couple to hospital on April 15 at 1:03 a.m.

The Prince George RCMP received the complaint of home invasion and aggravated assault in the residence on the 1400 block of Milburn Street.

An adult male and an adult female both suffered injuries as a result of the attack and were transported by the BC Ambulance Service to the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation led to 18-year-old Allan Andrew Squires of Prince George and 20-year-old Sylvester Gordon Joseph of Burns Lake.

Joseph was located and arrested without incident at a residence on the 1700 block of Gorse Street, approximately an hour after the attack. Charges of break and enter and two counts of aggravated assault have been approved for Joseph. The court released Joseph pending his next court appearance scheduled for May 25.

Squires has not yet been located. On April 18, charges of break and enter and two counts of aggravated assault were approved and an arrest warrant was issued for Squires, who should be considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Police believe that the suspects and the victims are known to each other.

Anyone with information about this criminal offence or the whereabouts of Squires is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-TIPS (8477).
