A young man, known by Prince George police to be a member of the Game Tight Soldiers gang, is a suspect in a home invasion occurring Jan. 16 in the 2800 block of Pine Street.

When police responded to a complaint of a break and enter in progress at the location, they located and arrested a man as he was leaving the residence.

Jeffrey Austin Theriault, 18, of Prince George has been charged with break & enter, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and beach of undertaking.

Cpl. Craig Douglass, media liaison officer, said police believe two masked males forcibly entered the residence and produced a large edged weapon in an effort to locate one of the residents. Theriault was arrested at the scene, while a second male eluded police.

Motive for the attack is not known, but police say this was a targeted attack and that the accused and one of the residents are known to each other.

Three persons were in the residence at the time, but none were physically harmed.

Theriault is scheduled to appear in Prince George Provincial Court on February 1st, 2011.

Police have no description of the second suspect and are seeking the public's help in identifying the person.
