Police are on the lookout for a suspect following a home invasion early Thursday morning.

At about 5:30 a.m., a female made her way into a 700-block Patricia Boulevard home via an unlocked window and then into the bedroom of the home's lone occupant.

"The suspect began to cuddle the elderly female resident, waking her in a fright," RCMP said. "The resident told the intruder she had to leave and escorted her to the door and out without further incident."

The incident was reported to RCMP later that morning.

"Just because no one was hurt, doesn't mean that this isn't serious" said Cpl. Craig Douglass. "Anyone that knowingly breaks into someone's home while they sleep, has no regard for other people or their property. We need to locate her."

No description is available, RCMP said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Prince George RCMP.
