The Prince George RCMP are looking for white, two-door vehicle and its driver after a Wednesday evening hit and run.
On Dec. 28, a 17-year-old male was struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk at Tabor Boulevard and Galinis Avenue. The teen pedestrian hit the hood and windshield and was thrown off the vehicle onto the street. The driver of the vehicle shouted at the pedestrian to get out of the way, or the driver would run over the pedestrian again. The driver made no attempts to assist the injured pedestrian and left the scene.
According to police, the victim was transported to the University Hospital of Northern B.C., where he received treatment for his injuries and was released.
The driver was described as a male with a goatee beard and the vehicle, which will likely have damage to the front end, hood and windshield, was last seen headed towards Otway Road.
The investigation into this collision is ongoing. Police are reminding the public that it is never acceptable to leave the scene of a serious collision, no matter who was at fault. Drivers and pedestrians are also reminded to take extra precautions when crossing intersections, especially after sun down.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver involved in this collision is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or to anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca, or text-a-tip to CRIMES using keyword "pgtips".
