Two improvements to local highways are planned for this summer, local MLAs said Friday.
Signals and a right-turn lane for westbound traffic will be constructed at Kimball Road. The work is expected to go to tender in early summer with construction completed in the fall.
And work on extending the access from Pine Centre Mall onto Highway 97 will begin in July. The $450,000 project will convert the current yield lane into a full merge lane.
A study looking at Highway 16 from the west side of the city, including College Heights, to upcoming Bunce to Blackwater four-laning project is also underway. It will take into account traffic volumes and composition, traffic movements, and access with city side roads.
