The manager of the Highway of Tears Initiative at Carrier Sekani Family Services was among the 19 people from across the province recognized Friday during the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Awards.
In part, Wendy Kellas was recognized for leading the creation of a website about the Highway of Tears, launched in September 2013, and was involved, behind the scenes, in a documentary on Highway of Tears.
Held in Burnaby, the event is hosted by the Ministry of Justice and the B.C. Crime Prevention Association and leads into B.C.'s Crime Prevention Week, Nov. 1-7.
