Highway death marks Sunday

Police have confirmed that one person is dead after a vehicle collision on near the intersection of Buckhorn Road and Highway 97. The Citizen has learned that the fatality was a male youth, and two other youths were seriously injured.

The Citizen has learned that the fatality was a male youth, and two other youths were seriously injured. The three were all known to each other as friends.

It has not yet been disclosed if others were involved in the crash, or in what configuration they were travelling when the crash occurred.

The collision happened at about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Traffic was redirected via the BCR Industrial Site by police during their lengthy investigation. The reasons why the crash took place have not yet been discussed publicly by the RCMP. Neither police or BC Coroner Service officials have disclosed the name of anyone involved.
