Spring is officially in full swing, which calls for a lot of flooding in certain areas.
In the case of Highway 97, large puddles of water have formed almost 30km north of Prince George near Summit Lake, forcing the road to be reduced to single lane.
Traffic is alternating directions as of 6 a.m this morning (April 23) according to Drive B.C.
The flooding is specifically located between Mitchell Road and Summit Lake Road.
Drivers are urged to slow down in this area as traffic control is in place until the highway fully re-opens.
There’s currently no timetable on when the road is expected to be clear.
We’ll bring more information as it becomes available.
