Highway 97 reopened near Soda Creek

Highway 97 was reopened Tuesday evening after a head-on collision between two semi trucks has closed a stretch near Soda Creek. One of the drivers involved suffered serious injuries, Cpl. Mike Halskov of B.C. RCMP traffic services said.

Highway 97 was reopened Tuesday evening after a head-on collision between two semi trucks has closed a stretch near Soda Creek.

One of the drivers involved suffered serious injuries, Cpl. Mike Halskov of B.C. RCMP traffic services said.

The collision occurred at midday Monday, at the Williams Lake cutoff, about 19 kilometres north of Wildwood.

The stretch was closed with no detours for a period, then reopened to single-lane alternating.

However, in a notice posted shortly before 4 p.m. on the DriveBC website, says it is now closed in both directions.

The highway was completely reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
