Higway 16 is fully-reopened after it was down to single-lane traffic about 75 kilometres east of Prince George while repairs were completed following a flood that sent water across the road.

Repairs consisted of excavation, placement of rip rap, reconstruction of the embankment and gravel.

"A minor delay is expected in August for paving but it likely won't be more than a day," transportation and infrastructure spokeswoman Kate Trotter said.

Highway 16 was closed early July 9 when a culvert at Kenneth Creek was unable to handle a flood of water brought on by heavy rain. It was reopened to single-lane alternating a few days later.
