Highland Drv paving postponed

Highway road work was scheduled for today on Highland Drive but that has taken a detour.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances we have to postpone the road rehab scheduled for Highland Drive this week," said Mick Jones, supervisor of technical services for the City of Prince George.

The Highland project called for 2.5 lane-kilometres from Vellencher Road to Foothills Boulevard. It is a $389,000 budget item that will be completed sometime later this construction season.

City crews will not be idle, however. Jones said rehabilitation work will go on instead on 3rd Avenue between Carney Street and East Central Street. It is a 1.5 lane-kilometres long for an estimated investment of $132,000.
