A wanted man is in custody following an RCMP Emergency Response Team Deployment early Friday morning.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., the Prince George RCMP, with the assistance of the North District RCMP Emergency Response Team, entered a residence on the 500 block of Alward Street to locate and arrest a high-risk suspect believed to be in possession of weapons.
At about 8:25 a.m., Julien Naseem Yasin Lazarre, 19, was taken into custody without incident.
Lazarre was wanted for failing to comply with his sentence and is currently under investigation for other recent offences in Prince George.
During the operation, Fifth Avenue from Wainwright Street to Carney Street and a portion of Alward Street were closed to the public.
According to police, the closure was necessary for the safety of police and the public in the area.
