Hey Prince George... it's snowing again!

Are you prepared for the conditions?

It appears Mother Nature decided to play tricks on Prince George a week before Halloween and, coincidentally, the day before the 2020 B.C. election.

On the off chance you've yet to look out your window this morning (Oct. 23), snow fell down and dusted its way across the city, forcing residents to get up a little bit earlier than normal to shovel driveways and scrape their vehicles.

Environment Canada's initial forecast didn't call for snow of any sort today, but the wind certainly helped with its wide-spread in the region.

However, the national service is predicting the light white stuff will end around Noon.

Winds are expected to gust up to 50 km/h, dropping the afternoon daily high to -16 C with the chill.

Tonight, the low will drop to -22 C before sunnier skies appear on Saturday morning (Oct. 24) and there's currently no forecast for snow or flurries to return until Monday (Oct. 26), which could get mixed in with rain.

Environment Canada's only snowfall warning close to Prince George, for now, is along Highway 97 between 100 Mile House and Clinton via the Begbie Summit with up to 10 cm expected today.

If you are heading out on the highways, provincial law is requiring all commuters to have winter tires on their vehicles since Oct. 1.

There are also currently no local power outages listed by BC Hydro as a result of the snowfall.
