Here’s when the Prince George Spruce Kings will begin the Fred Page Cup Finals

Tickets available Monday (April 8) as team will host first two games of the BCHL Championship

The Prince George Spruce Kings are gearing up for their second consecutive appearance in the B.C. Hockey League (BCHL) Fred Page Cup Finals.

Only this year, the red, white, and blue will get the chance to host the first two games at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA), scheduled for next Friday (April 12) and Saturday (April 13).

Last season, the Spruce Kings started the Finals in Wenatchee, Washington, so the team is thankful for the regular-season they recorded this year, finishing second in the BCHL with 84 points (39-13-1-5), and are the highest ranked club left in the playoffs.

Prince George is riding a nine-game winning streak, and 12 in their last 13 playoff games, after sweeping the Island-champion Victoria Grizzlies 4-0 in the Coastal Conference Championship series on Tuesday and blanking the 2018 National-champion Chilliwack Chiefs 4-0 in the Mainland Division Finals a series earlier.

The ‘Kings have yet to lose a game in their barn since the start of the post-season and will hope to maintain that energy in front of the home crowd while seeking redemption after losing to Wenatchee in five games in the 2018 Finals.

Tickets for Games One and Two at the RMCA are up for sale in-person and on-line starting Monday (April 8) at 10 a.m.

More information is available on the Spruce Kings’ website.

Their opponent, however, is still to be determined as the Interior Conference Championship continues between Vernon and Wenatchee.

The Vipers currently lead the defending Fred Page Cup-champion Wild 3-1 with Game Five set for tonight (April 5) south of the border.

Puck-drop goes for 7 p.m. from the Town Toyota Center; if the Wild avoid elimination, Game Six will return to Vernon on Sunday (April 7).

This means Prince George will enjoy another nine-day break before the start of the BCHL Championship.
