Remembrance Day events will start at 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 11.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies will be returning to a traditional event with a service in the Prince George Civic Centre that will start with marching on the colours at 9:15 a.m.

The Prince George Community Band and Pipe Band will play, and the national and royal anthems will be sung by Fiona Raine.

Following the indoor service there will be a parade from the Civic Centre at 10:25 a.m., along Quebec St., to Fifth Avenue, and down to George St. to the Cenotaph for a brief outdoor service and the laying of the designated official wreaths.

This year’s Silver Cross mother will be Lorraine Matters. The service will include the Act of Remembrance, Indigenous drumming, and a fly past.

Following the cenotaph service, the parade will reform and proceed to Dominion then to Sixth Avenue for an eyes right special salute which will be received by RCMP Chief Superintendent Warren Brown.

“We are very much looking forward to marking this years Remembrance Day with our community,” said Legion President Eric Callaghan.

“Remembrance and service to our veterans are critical components of why the Legion exists.”

Remembrance Day also marks the end of the Legion Poppy Campaign which raises funds for local causes supporting veterans and promoting Remembrance.
