It’s summertime in the city and with the warm temperatures comes a full-on construction season.

Here are the notices of traffic and pedestrian network disruptions for Tuesday, August 13, 2024 and beyond.

Closures:

Highway 97 on- and off-ramps at North Nechako Road

  • Will be closed, Tuesday, Aug. 13 from noon to 7 p.m. for Lafarge to do milling.
  • Detours will be in place.
  • Emergency vehicles will not have access.

Lethbridge Street between 12th Avenue and Laurier Crescent

  • Will be closed, Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 4:30 p.m. for a staging area for the concrete truck & pump staging and setup area
  • Detours will be in place.

Intersection of 20th and Larch Street

  • Will be closed, Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a sanitary line repair.
  • Detours required.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access. 

Dominion Street Sidewalk between 7th Avenue & Kopar Arena pedestrian crosswalk

  • Will be closed until Friday, Aug. 23 for the construction of access/egress parking lot driveway.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

Terminal Boulevard between Highway 97 and the CN Rail Crossing.

  • Will be closed, Sunday, Aug.t 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to pave.

3rd Avenue between Queensway Boulevard and Ontario Street

  • Will be closed, 24 hours, until Monday, Aug. 19 for a watermain project.
  • Detours required.
  • Emergency vehicles will not have access.

3rd Avenue between George Street and Queensway Boulevard

  • Will be closed, every Saturday, until the fall from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the Wilson Square Community Farmers’ Market.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Quebec Street between 2nd and 3rd avenues & 3rd Avenue between Quebec Street and Dominion Street

  • Will be closed, every Saturday, until the fall from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the Prince George Farmers’ Market.
  • Detours required.
  • Emergency vehicles will not have access.

 1215 Lethbridge Street from the south end of Lethbridge Street to the north end of Lethbridge Street

  • Pedestrian traffic and parking will be closed for the construction of the new parkade until May 2025. Pedestrian re-routing will take place. Traffic will not be affected.

Quebec Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue

  • 6th Avenue sidewalk between Quebec Street and Dominion Street remains incomplete and closed.

Delays

 Queensway between Moyie Street and 20th Avenue

  • Will experience minor traffic disruption until Tuesday, Aug. 13th at 4 p.m. for BC Hydro vegetation management.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access. 

Ospika Boulevard between McGowan Drive and Otway Road

  • Will experience minor traffic disruption until Monday, Aug. 26 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily for the sidewalk rehabilitation project.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Tyner Boulevard between Ospika Boulevard and University Heights

  • Will be single lane alternating until Friday, Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for Telus Utility work.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Upland Street between Rebman Crescent and Ferry Avenue

  • Will be single lane alternating, Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the replacement of a street light pole.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

Terminal Boulevard between Highway 97 and the CN Rail crossing.

  • Will be single lane, Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to do milling.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Pacific Street between Continental Way and Industrial Way

  • Will be single lane alternating, Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to do milling.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Carney Street between Ellison Drive and 15th Avenue

  • Will experience minor traffic disruption until Wednesday, Aug. 14 for new sidewalk and curb installations.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

Ferry Avenue between Highway 16 and Clapperton Street

  • Will be single lane alternating, Thursday, Aug. 15 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to do milling.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Carney Street between 5th Avenue and 1st Avenue/River Road overpass

  • Will be single lane alternating, Friday, Aug. 16 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to do milling.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 University Way between Ceremonial Road and Campus Ring Road

  • Will be single lane alternating, Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to do milling.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Pacific Street between Continental Way and Industrial Way

  • Will be closed, Sunday, Aug. 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to pave.
  • Detours will be in place.
  • Emergency vehicles will not have access.

Ferry Avenue between Highway 16 and Clapperton Street

  • Will be closed, Monday, Aug. 19 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to pave.
  • Detours will be in place.
  • Emergency vehicles will not have access.

Intersection of 3rd Ave and Queensway (right lane northbound)

  • Will have one northbound lane on Queensway closed, 24 hours, Wednesday, July 31 to Monday, Aug. 19 for a watermain project.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

Carney Street between 5th Avenue and 1st Avenue/River Road Overpass

  • Will be closed, Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 6 p.m. to 7a.m. for Lafarge to pave.
  • Detours will be in place.
  • Emergency vehicles will not have access.

London Street between 3rd Avenue and 5th Avenue

  • Will be closed, Tuesday, Aug. 6 to Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for curb, gutter and sidewalk repairs.
  • Emergency vehicles WILL have access.

University Way between Ceremonial Road and Campus Ring Road

  • Will be single lane alternating, Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for Lafarge to pave.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.

 Strathcona Avenue from the cul-de-sac end to Redwood Street

  • Will experience minor traffic disruption from Thursday, Aug. 8 to Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily for the Sidewalk rehabilitation project.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access.
