Here’s how many tickets are left for the Prince George Spruce Kings’ Doyle Cup games

‘Kings hosting Games Four and Five this week trailing 1-2 in the series

Prince George’s Junior ‘A’ hockey club is back in town this week, hoping home ice can play to their advantage.

The Spruce Kings are hosting the Brooks Bandits as the 2019 Doyle Cup series shifts to the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA) and will stay there until a winner is crowned.

Games Four and Five are scheduled for tomorrow (May 1) and Thursday (May 2) respectively with only 250 standing room tickets available for each night.

Spruce Kings Business Operations Manager Kyle Anderson explains to PrinceGeorgeMatters a select number of seats will be released at 10 a.m. tomorrow (May 1), and again at the same time on Thursday (May 2), for Section Five of the RMCA on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Online ticketing services will be open at 11 a.m. each day.

The ‘Kings are down 1-2 in the regional championship to the Alberta League champions, the first time they’ve trailed in a playoff series this year.

After winning Game One in the National Championship host city by a 2-0 shutout, Prince George lost the next two contests 3-1 on Saturday (April 27) and 4-0 on Sunday (April 28).

That’s the first time the Spruce Kings have lost back-to-back tilts since January.

To make things more interesting, the red, white, and blue’s winning streak in their home barn is also at stake as they have not lost a game at the RMCA in 2019, regular season and playoffs, making it 17 in a row.

The last home loss was on Dec. 15 before the Christmas break in a 2-1 decision to Surrey.

Games Four and Five are both scheduled for 7 p.m.

If Games Six and Seven are needed to close out the Doyle Cup, they’ll be played on Saturday (May 4) and Sunday (May 5).
