Prince George low-income seniors and people with a terminal illness can get a legal hand with making a will at no cost.

They can get the service by calling Access Pro Bono at 1-877-762-6664 and ask for the lawyer roster service.

In turn, they can provide pro bono, or no cost, legal assistance or representation to low-income people at least 55 years old, addressing wills and estate matters that may involve basic wills, letters of administration, powers of attorney, committeeship applications, probate letters and representation agreements.

The provincial government's new Wills and Estates Act came into effect last week.

Having a will allows you to set out your wishes and if you don't have one prepared a set formula is used to divide your property.
