As always, this year's Royal Canadian Legion poppy campaign begins with the sale of wreaths. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate to the Poppy Trust Fund, which is used exclusively for veterans and their families. The trust fund continues to support the Hospice House, Cancer Clinic, the University Hospital of Northern B.C., and its emergency department, care facilities for the elderly and disabled, and provide specialty wheel chairs, dental care, and vision care for veterans and their families.
To donate to the Poppy Trust Fund call 236-423-4343 Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. and noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. until Nov. 10.
