Healthy Kids Day goes Sunday for the first time at Canada Games Plaza.
The YMCA of Northern B.C. always encourages families to live healthier lives and will show and tell exactly what they mean by that by hosting this family-friendly free event.
There's going to be face painting, bannock making, arts and crafts, kid-friendly fitness classes, paint archery, and Healthy Kids Karaoke to give the little ones their time to shine.
There's going to be a bouncy train to blow off steam, a petting zoo and a few surprises, too.
"This is an all-day event so it goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.," said Stephanie Mikalishen, coordinator of philanthropic development and camp programs at the local YMCA.
"We have more activities and more exhibitors that are going to be joining us."
On hand will be information booths provided by Bear Aware, the Canadian Diabetes Association, The Exploration Place and the City of Prince George where families can get two for one swim passes.
The Two Rivers Gallery is bringing their Family Fun Art Day into the plaza to add to the creativity, added Mikalishen.
Judy Russell's Dancers will perform on the mainstage and a YMCA volunteer will do a jiu jitsu demonstration.
"So lots of different things happening," said Mikalishen.
"And then, of course, the big portion of the entertainment schedule will be that Iron Man will be hitting the stage at noon and he's going to be talking about what it takes to be a super hero."
There will be food vendors on hand when people get hungry and Save On Foods will be handing out free fruit snacks as well.
"There's going to be something for everybody, said Mikalishen.
The first 300 children to come to Healthy Kids Day will get a free Healthy Kids Day T-shirt and children have the opportunity to win a bike from Canadian Tire.
