The outstanding contributors to northern B.C.'s health and wellness will be honoured at the Healthier You Awards at UNBC next Friday.
MLA Shirley Bond, the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society and the Prince George Citizen have partnered to recognize businesses, organizations and individuals for their efforts to make the region healthier.
Nominations for the award close this Friday at 7 p.m.

Health & Wellness Advocate of the Year, sponsored by Canadian Tire
Awarded to a Northern British Columbia company, individual or organization, which has
had a positive impact on our region, through advocacy for health and wellness.
Health & Wellness Innovator of the Year, sponsored by New Car Dealers Association
To be awarded to a company, individual, or organization, which has developed or implemented a new approach to enhance the wellness of the citizens of Northern British Columbia.
Seniors Initiative of the Year, sponsored by the Treasure Cove Casino
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has developed or introduced a product or service which enhances the health and wellness of seniors within Northern British Columbia.
Youth Initiative of the Year, sponsored by the YMCA of Northern B.C.
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has developed or introduced a product or service to enhance the health and wellness of youth within Northern British Columbia.
Health & Wellness Educator of the Year, sponsored by the College of New Caledonia
To be awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has provided ongoing health and wellness education to either health care providers, health care students and/or citizens of Northern British Columbia.
Health & Wellness Researcher of the Year, sponsored by the University of Northern B.C.
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which performed research in the field of health and wellness within Northern British Columbia.
First Nations Initiative of the Year, sponsored by Treasure Cove Casino
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has developed or introduced a product or service which enhances the health and wellness of First Nations within Northern British Columbia.
Health & Wellness Care Provider of the Year, sponsored by the Prince George Citizen
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has demonstrated exemplary service and dedication to enhancing the health and wellness of the citizens of Northern British Columbia.
Technology & Healthcare, sponsored by Telus
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has developed, introduced or improved a technology product or has improved the interface or service between technology and health care to enhance health and wellness within Northern British Columbia.
Outstanding Multicultural Contribution, sponsored by the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has made an outstanding contribution towards the health and wellness in the multicultural community.
Healthy Workplace for Small Business, sponsored by IDL Projects
Awarded to a northern British Columbian small business of 50 or less employees, which has developed workplace programs that have contributed to the health and wellness of its employees.
Mental Health in the Workplace, sponsored by Spectra Energy
Awarded to a company, individual or organization, which has developed or introduced a product or service which enhances mental health and wellness in the workplace for Northern British Columbians.
